As a sculptural glass artist, I investigate identity and spirituality by using glass, light and color to engage in the queering of traditions in stained glass.

By color sourcing from unstable subjects that undergo change, I lean into a poetic translation where instability in color is a time-based performance. My work activates the formal qualities in glass, as a highly dependent and changing material based on its relationship to light, environmental factors and fragility.

Material and color study are keys to my practice. Taking advantage of glass’s unique ability to permeate its environment, light and geometry are used in my work to create site-specific cast projections that break from the containment of sculpture. Glass’s relationship to metals, clay and grout emphasizes its own contrasting qualities. Color gradients and theoretical color relationships are essential features of my work, establishing patterns and emotional appeals.
